Dear Mrs.Zrihen,
I have just finished reading the book JOSEPH by Shelia P. Moses. This book is very interesting I would  recommend this book to a lot of people you will like it no matter if you are in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade. It meant a lot to me at first it is kind of hard to understand but once you start reading it more and more when you get very deep into the book it will become easier to understand.
" I did not want my new homeroom teacher, Ms.Adams, to shake Momma's hand". This passage meant a lot it is like why would you not want your teacher to shake your moms hand what she is not going to kill her or something like that. I would never think such a thing why would you tell that or think about that.
I used many strategies during the process of reading this book, 2 strategies before reading one was skimming and scanning for text features and another one is I read the synopsis to see what the book will be about and to find out what will happen one of the questions on the synopsis were how does a boy find his way without falling between the cracks? by the end of the book I could write a paragraph just on that one specific question. Two strategies I used during reading was go back and read what I did not understand and summarize every chapter one by one as I am done with them. Two strategies I used after reading was test myself on the book to see if I understood everything and I also count how much literary elements I see throughout the whole book.
The genre of this book is realistic fiction, the characters are round/dynamic the protagonist is Joseph and the antagonist is his Momma. The setting is in North Carolina the place is in school  and home or at relatives house. The exposition is good but the rising action was the best part it led to the climax which had a big turn at the end that I could not have imagined to happen. The conflict was that his mom does drugs and bad decisions and his life his heading the wrong way while his dad is in the war in Iraq. There is not a tone nor mood in this story that I realized the pattern of organization is flashback. Three figurative language I saw was all the things in life are not fair, the apple does not fall far away from the tree, and last one was life is what you make it.
A response starter is the main character plays a very big and good role in the story I wish there was a movie.
I rate this book a 10 out of 10 because I just liked it a lot it had  basically everything I am waiting for new books to come out from this author she is really good

                                       Sincerely, Bar Peretz
